Every month Wendy hosts Friday Night SEW In & I always try to join in. Even while in the caravan I wanted to get together with my on line friends... so this month I decided to knit.
Kinda like my version... Friday Night STITCH in... ha ha
Another "beanie" has now been added to the charity box.
DD#2 wanted another quilt so I asked her to pick a design she liked.
She saw a layout on Pinterest awhile ago & said "that's the one I want".
So I set about making it... bit of trial & error with colours, block size & placement... and in the end DD#2 was very HaPPy with my colour decisions & layout.
Well... I am pleased to say Haphazard Peaks is now FiNisHeD.
I stitched the multi coloured binding down while in the caravan...
My friend Julie.. from Jewells blog HeRe... at Edge to EdgeQuilting, worked her magic with the quilting.
Thanks Julie... xox
The quilt measures 90 inch x 100 inch. Each one of the 90 blocks finished at 10 inches... (4 blocks of 1/2 square triangles made 1 coloured block) while the greys/lights were 1 x 10 inch block.
I chose the simple black & white backing fabric to make the quilt fully & quietly reversible.
Unfortunately I don't know the original owner of this diagram to give full credit here.
Click, Click, Click... Knit... Knit... Knit...
My sister-in-law knits beanies & toys for charities. The beanies go over to an orphanage in Russia so while on holidays I decided to knit up a few too.
During some quiet time, using donated wool & "s-i-l" needles, I knitted these...
I added the FREE instructions for this "Eazy Peazy Beanie" on my web page... HeRe.
Three more "beanies" have now been added to the charity box.
I joined in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge with So Scrappy blog in 2015.
I chose to make "Bow Tie" blocks & all 140 quilt blocks were made using scraps in the monthly challenge colours. Once I had enough blocks I arranged them alternately between hugs & kisses blocks with a light & dark colour scheme. All 35 (4 patch) blocks finished at 12 inch square.
I added a 3 inch white border, then another 3 inch pieced coloured border & a final white border at 4 inches. The quilt top finished at 80 inch x 104 inch.
Then it headed off to the fabulous Julie to work her quilting magic on it.... AND...
work her magic she did. I love it.I apologise Julie as I know the pic doesn't do your work justice.
While in the van, I finished off the binding & ViOLa'...
My "TO DO" list just got 1 quilt shorter... yippee... I
